Detroit – The DBCC Masters Squad saw 32 participants, including 3 dedicated coxswains, train and race during the 2021 season under new coach Tanya Newman. The weather was kind for most of the season, enabling the squad to make the most of the on water training.
The Masters Squad raced at 2 sprint regattas including the Michigan Club Invitational Regatta in Ann Arbor, MI and the Midwest Summer Sprint Championships in Nashport, OH where they accumulated 4 silver and 7 bronze medals. This Fall, the masters competed at three head races including The Head of the Cuyahoga in Cleveland, The Head of the Ohio in Pittsburgh, and the Secret City Head Race in Oak Ridge, TN where they collectively brought home 8 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze medals.
