Committed To Creating & Training Elite Rowers
Rowing programs have continued at the Detroit Boat Club Crew for nearly 200 years. Today marks the end of an era as we are forced out of our 1902 Boathouse and begin construction of a new facility on the property. Despite these challenges, we’ve continued to produce elite college-bound and masters athletes that excel at the highest levels of competition.
Detroit Won the National Title in the women’s U19 4+ at the 2023 USRowing Youth National Championship in Sarasota. This marked the 60th National Championship win since 1972 ond the 132nd National Championship in DBC history, since the first victory in 1882.
In order to maintain this level of excellence and keep youth and adults on the water, we were fortunate to secure the Belle Isle Athletic Shelter as a temporary solution for indoor winter training. Two additional facilities for on-site training and winter storage were built in 2023 with construction scheduled to begin in 2024 for a new boathouse.
Today the Detroit Boat Club Crew offers a wide variety of programs, including rowing for middle schoolers, high school students, and adults. If you’ve never rowed before, haven’t rowed in years, or want to train for your next big race, we have a program for you.
