Lucerne, Switzerland – Former DBC rower, Sorin Koszyk, together with the men’s quadruple sculls crew of Charles Anderson, Justin Keen, Eliot Putnam had an exciting yet ultimately disappointing ride to the Final Olympic Qualifying Regatta (FOQR) this spring.

Beginning in April at the 2nd Olympic Trials in West Windsor, NJ, where the team won its time-trial with a time of 5:58.29, before, winning the second heat in 6:11.30 and crossing the finish line 12.47 seconds before the second-place boat from the Green Racing Project.

The quad went on to finish first in the final earning them a trip to the 2021 FISA FOQR in Lucerne, Switzerland in May where a top-two finish could earn them and the USA a berth at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Unfortunately, Sorin and the men’s quad saw their olympic bid end in the Men’s Quadruple Sculls Repechage, with a time of 5:54.28 and the top spots going to the Romanians with a time of 5:47.98 and the Lithuanians finishing in 5:48.87.
